I also greet visitors and family members of patients in a friendly, compassionate manner, while also providing them with relevant information about their loved ones' current status. I am also ensuring a safe environment for both staff members and patients by adhering to the safety standards set forth by hospital policies. I was also able to observe and gain skills regarding patient monitoring by observing the patients' condition during the recovery period in the PACU. Volunteering in the PACU has allowed me to view the post-operative anesthesia care up close, which, in turn, has given me more insight into how anesthesia affects the patient post-surgery, and has further deepened my passion for anesthesia.

If an issue arises regarding any fellow employee or customer, it is my duty to try to address the issue thoroughly and effectively. This opportunity has allowed me to grow as an individual, and has allowed me to improve upon my leadership skills, such as problem solving, relationship building, effective communication, and strategic planning. I have also come to realize through this experience that becoming a good leader takes effort, commitment, and is not easily acquired.
