  • Interpret Federal tax law for individuals, small businesses, self-employed, corporations and partnerships
  • Follow procedures set forth by the Internal Revenue Manual to ensure compliance
  • Work independently and, as needed, with Group Manager, to determine penalty determination and limitation or expansion of examination on issues, years and related returns
  • Examinations include, but are not limited to, income probes, related return reviews, financial statements analysis, basis analysis, and sampling
  • Specialty examinations include Substitute for Returns, Employment Tax Returns, Claims and Audit Reconsiderations, National Research Project Returns, IRDM cases, and Civil Fraud Cases
