Operation of Monsanto style 350 TPD Sulfuric acid plant.
Ran process, water, and cooling tower samples. Operated sulfur fed furnace and 300# waste heat boiler within plant. Operated Mixed Acid plants and made mixed acid blends with oleum and CNA nitric acid and loaded trucks for customers. Made weak nitric acid blends for customers and loaded and unloaded trucks and railcars of nitric acid. Loaded and unloaded sulfuric trucks and railcars and kept up with production and sampling of sulfuric storage tanks. Operation of all outside areas on a 1150 TPD Kellogg style ammonia plant. Start up and shutdown of all areas. Front end operation of primary and secondary reformers, turbine driven BFW pumps, 1500# boilers and steam drum, induced draft, water tube auxiliary boiler. Start up of methanator, operation of MDEA system and turbine driven pumps. Compressor area operation of syn gas, refridge, and air compressor turbine driven trains 600# and 1500#. Operation of back end areas, hydrogen recovery unit, and ammonia converter. Operation of RO building area. Made changes and adjustments and handled all chemicals and samples for demineralized, process, BFW, and cooling tower water. Running of DCS on RO building, and taking care of regenning mixed beds and polisher and running the water building efficiently. Had some DCS experience on plant when I left.
