Since i moved to Tenaris, I've been in charge of the maintenance for the seamless pipe lines production. Working with different kind of processes. From the steel hot rolling to the finishing of the pipes.
The technologies included on this area are heat treatment for the pipes, threading machinery, coupling machines, etc.
This role demands to lead the base maintenance group. And interact with our internal supplier. As the automation team, the workshops, Non destructive treatment team, production and many others. Implementing different projects to be ready to produce any product that the market needs.
As a maintenance leader i was in charge of a team, with different specialties (Mechanics, Electrical and instrumentation).
The main responsibilities were:
- To define the KPI's for the area.
- Decide whit the area manager the yearly budget.
- Define the predictive strategy for each equipment.
- Manage the suppliers for the area, and control the monthly amount expended on them.
One of the biggest goal that i achieve during this experience was the implementation of a new maintenance system. Based on what the company used to do in other countries. We growth on Safety KPI's, productivity, quality assurance and the most important, The engagement of our people.
The main responsibilities on this role were:
- Analyze the critical spare parts for 8 beer production lines.
- Keep upgraded the skill matrix for the electrical maintenance team.
- Define the investments to migrate the obsolete technologies.
- Lead the failure analysis for the automation and electrical problems that we faced.
As maintenance engineer i had the opportunity to participate in the early equipment management for two great projects. One of them was the installation of a can line whit a 90.000 cans per hour production capacity. And the other one was to create a new fermentation room for Budweiser production.

I worked as an automation engineer for the packaging area. Working whit many technologies. Filling machinery, bottling washing machines, empty bottle inspectors. And many others.

- Industrial networks troubleshooting (DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet).
- Troubleshooting any failure during the production.
