Primary Duties
Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Maintenance
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Motorola two-way radio equipment supporting emergency services and depot operations.
• Perform radio programming, testing, and repairs to ensure system reliability and compliance with operational requirements.
• Fabricate custom metal brackets for vehicle radio installations when provided hardware is incompatible.
• Research individual GSA vehicles for best possible routing for power harnesses, data cables, and antennae cable.
• Ensure radio frequencies are within specified parameters.
• Maintain inventory of spare Motorola compatible parts and equipment.
Audio/Video Support
• Set up AV equipment for high-profile meetings as well as providing on-site technical support for a vast array of AV issues.
• Maintain televisions to ensure broadcasted information is readily available to depot personnel.
· Provide AV support for various ceremonies and depot related events.
Network Infrastructure
• Plan and manage networking projects from initial design and material estimation to final installation and testing.
• Produce detailed building diagrams in Microsoft Visio to support network and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with various network infrastructure tasks and installs.
• Splice and terminate fiber optic cables to support high-speed data infrastructure.
Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Wireless LAN (WLAN)
• Support and maintain large, medium, and small-scale industrial networks and Windows environments, resolving Tier 1–2 tickets involving hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot PoE CCTV, access control systems, door hardware, cameras, and A/V communication equipment.
• Maintain accurate repair logs, asset documentation, and IT process documentation in compliance with government standards.
• Follow strict safety, quality, and security requirements while working in commercial and industrial environments.
• Coordinate with Radio Shop and IT personnel to maintain secure, mission-critical communications systems.
• Travel to various locations on depot to provide in person support and troubleshooting.
Additional Duties
• Operate a forklift to move pallets of equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
• Remove and destroy sensitive hard drives from decommissioned PCs in compliance with security protocols.
• Coordinate with property management to process turned-in IT assets, including printers, TVs, workstations, projectors, cameras, and VoIP phones.
• Move, assemble, and reconfigure office furniture in support of departmental relocations and workspace changes.
• Deploy portable AC units throughout the DFIM building during HVAC outages to protect critical systems.
• Deliver, set up, and configure network multifunction printers ensuring proper connectivity and functionality.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, removing old paint, and filling holes, cracks, and joints with appropriate filler.
• Tape, float, and texture ceilings and walls for a smooth, finished appearance.
• Select premixed paints or mix pigments, oils, and thinners to achieve specified colors.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other methods to meet required effects.
• Stain, varnish, and seal wood surfaces for durability and appearance.
• Erect scaffolding, set up ladders, or operate hoists to perform tasks above ground level.
• Pick up and deliver painting supplies to apartment buildings using a company vehicle.
• Receive and complete work orders for painting and related tasks.
• Identify and complete necessary repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment using established inspection procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of materials and labor used.
• Manage inventory of tools and assist with equipment control.
• Inspect completed jobs to ensure quality and cleanliness of work areas.
• Communicate supply needs to the Property Manager for painting and preparation of vacant apartment units for new residents.
• Paint trims, walls, doors, window frames, ceilings, vents, closets, shelving, and cabinetry in vacant units between tenants.
• Caulk around sinks, bathtubs, and cabinets in both vacant and occupied units as needed.
• Repair or replace floor tile as required.
• Complete work orders in occupied apartments for tasks including painting, caulking, and grouting.
• Paint interior spaces such as the clubhouse, offices, model units, laundry rooms, and entryways, as well as exterior structures including pool gates, decks, fences, meter box housings, mailbox areas, gazebo areas, and curbs.
• Perform touch-up painting in occupied units or common areas as needed.
• Hang sheetrock and patch or repair holes in ceilings and walls.
• Assist the Maintenance Technician with work orders and support the Porter with daily duties.
• Apply ice-melt and shovel snow during inclement weather.
• Complete all job-related tasks as assigned by the Property Manager.
• Operate forklift safely and productively, maintaining high levels of utilization and efficiency.
• Load and unload accurate quantities of damage-free product, ensuring safe handling and balanced weight distribution.
• Complete shipping and receiving documentation using accurate paperwork and radio frequency equipment.
• Verify product quality before loading, ensuring it meets all standards and is cleared for shipment.
• Unload products as directed, inspecting for damage or defects.
• Patch and prepare damaged materials for future use.
• Handle hazardous materials in a safe and controlled manner.
• Prepare drilling fluid (oil-based mud) for use on rigs when required.
• Load and unload various weighted drilling fluids from pump trucks for storage or future use.
• Clean residual drilling fluids of debris and harmful particles.
• Execute electrical wiring plans for lighting, intercom, alarm, and other electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm systems and related infrastructure.
• Install safety and distribution components to meet electrical code requirements.
• Prepare and assemble conduits, routing and connecting wiring as required.
• Inspect and replace old wiring and insulated cables to prevent breakdowns.
• Clean circuits and perform preventive maintenance to ensure system longevity.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged units.
