  • Responsible for planning and executing nursing care to patients within the assigned area and utilize the nursing peri-operative framework in the process of providing post-operative patient interventions
  • POSITION OBJECTIVES
  • 1 Obtains and verifies doctor’s post-operative orders when necessary
  • 2 Provides post-operative instructions to both patients and his/her companion prior to discharge
  • 3 Provide pre-operative instructions to the patient to reduce surgical anxiety
  • 4 Provide care for post-operative patient from general, regional, and local anesthesia
  • 5 Accommodates in patient and out-patients according to their needs
  • 6 Monitor post-operative vital signs and oxygenation status to determine necessary care
  • 7 Provide diligent care through monitoring assessment, intervention and continuous re-assessment due to possibility of rapid changes in patient’s physical condition
