Engineering Projects
Balsa Wood Tower
- Design a 10 inch tower with a 12 g weight limit. Two partners and I where given 15 balsa sticks all with a variety of density and lengths. We ended up having to reconstruct the night before we tested the towers with weight, and we still got 7th place in out class.
Water Filter
- In a group of 3 we designed and tested a handmade water filter using sand, pebbles, rocks and a cotton round. We then tested the filtered water to analyze the amount of debris still left. The point of this project was to explore cheaper and efficient ways to make sustainable water filters for countries who have less access to clean water.
