Interview inmates within the required time frame to obtain information concerning gender,age,prior criminal and escape history, assault or passive tendencies,gang membership, criminal sophistication etc.
Accessess computerized NCIC/ACIC records to obtain past criminal records, past escape attempts, history of mental illness, sucidal tendecies, or other pertinent information relevant to the classification of inmates.
Complete classification forms assigning appropriate point values to factors used in housing determination;calculates pint total.
Place inmates into Detention category of the general population, maximum security, medical isolation, or protective custody; determine housing unit assignment for each category ,place inmates into the best possible grouping based on the type of charge, past criminal history of violence, etc.
Assesses any additional information concerning inmates such as court decisions, inmate behavior, etc. to make changes in housing assignment as necessary.
Maintain records of all information used in classification decisions in inmates central files.
Provide inmate orientation to Detention facility ensuring understanding of direct supervision Detention policies and procedures.
